Deal Brokered Through Tides Marine Means Aqualuma’s Thru-Hull LEDs Will Light Up the Night Under World-Class Yacht Line Aqualuma Underwater Lighting of Queensland, Australia has reached an OEM agreement to provide its innovative thru-hull LED lighting systems to U.K.-based Sunseeker, for factory installation on the company’s line of prestigious sport boats, cruisers and yachts from 35 to well over 100 feet in length.

Deal Brokered Through Tides Marine Means Aqualuma’s Thru-Hull LEDs Will Light Up the Night Under World-Class Yacht Line

The agreement was arranged by Tides Marine International, Ltd., a pioneer in providing proprietary marine systems to power boat and sailboat manufacturers in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim.

Aqualuma Underwater Lighting’s products were designed to provide several “brilliant” advantages overtraditional underwater lights. Aqualuma Underwater Lighting uses an exclusive one-piece housing of highimpact polycarbonate — the same material used to make bulletproof glass. This rugged design is more than tough enough to take a pounding at sea or survive an accidental strike from debris while underway. It also makes Aqualuma Underwater Lighting the safe and reliable choice for use in vessels that exceed speeds of 40 mph. They are also pressure tested for water tightness up to 1,300 feet.

The heart of Aqualuma’s system is a long-life, high-output LED light engine. Available in white, blue or green, these lights pierce the darkness and create a bright, pleasing aura around any vessel. Still, they operate with very low DC power consumption —drawing 0.5 amps per light at 12V or 0.3 amps at 24V. Since they use LEDs rather than incandescent lamps, Aqualuma lights produce very little heat and can even be operated out of the water without damage. Since the housing is made from corrosion-proof polycarbonate, no bonding wires or anodes are required. They can also be serviced from inside the boat, eliminating the need for costly haul-outs.

“We’re thrilled to be associated with a brand with such a well-deserved reputation for excellence asSunseeker,” said Grant Amor, co-owner of Aqualuma Underwater Lighting. “We feel that our productsrepresent the leading edge of technology in the industry, and we look forward to partnering with Sunseeker and Tides Marine to provide the ultimate in innovation in the market.”

“Sunseeker is one of the world’s most recognized and respected yacht companies, so it stands we would only recommend to them marine systems of the highest reputation,” said Brian Raine, Director of Tides Marine International, Ltd. “Aqualuma lights are clearly superior and offer important advantages to the boatbuilder and boat owner alike. We have every confidence in recommending them for our marine clients,” he added.

Sunseeker manufacturers a full range of premium quality vessels, including sport boats to 43 feet, offshore cruisers to 53 feet, flybridge motoryachts to 66 feet, performance motoryachts to 108 feet and yachts up to 37 meters.
