Tides Marine International working in partnership with stern gear manufacturer C&O Marine Engineers based in Newton Abbot, has been selected as a key supplier to Cornish Crabber LLP. Tides Marine SeriesOne propeller shaft seals are now fitted to the Shrimper, Crabber and the new Mystery range of boats currently being produced by Cornish Crabbers LLP. On the Mystery range Tides Marine are also supplying the rudder tube assembly which carries ABS and Lloyd’s type approval.

Cornish Crabbers LLP is based in Rock, Cornwall England and has been building traditionally styled sailing yachts for over 40 years. They currently have a large order book and there is a new model scheduled for launch at the Southampton Boat Show in September 2010 complete with a SeriesOne shaft seal fitted.


The Tides Marine SeriesOne Self-Aligning shaft seal is available for imperial (3/4” to 1 ¼”) and metric (22mm to 30mm) shaft diameters and compliments the Tides Marine SureSeal range designed for larger diameter shafts to 8” and 200mm diameters.

Designed with minimum maintenance in mind the SeriesOne shaft seal system is suitable for boats with high RPM, flexibly mounted engines as typically installed in yachts and small work boats. The seal head is supplied as a kit with the stern tube attachment hose (various diameter options available) and 316 stainless hose clamps. The seal head is water injected for long life and with no grease lubrication it is environmentally friendly.
